How do you fix the timing on a Singer sewing machine?
Please help!
I need to fix the timing on my sewing machine, its a 4205 Singer inspiration. Please please please help!
I know the problem is on the bottom with the "looper" but I don't know how to fix it.
Answer:
Sewing machines do not have loopers.
Try threading the machine with the presser foot up and see if this does not fix the problem.
When the presser foot down, the tension control closes just enough that when you thread the machine the thread does not properly enter enter the tension mechanism and then the tension setting cannot control the flow of the thread through the needle as you sew.
This makes loose stitches on top and loops on the bobbin side of the fabric.
If this does not resolve the problem, take the machine in for service.
If it is still under warranty you do not want to mess with the timing adjustment.
